Nurse

I was born and raised in Rockaway Beach, Queens but now live in Glendale. I love the beach! I went to school at Staten Island College and Helene Fuld College of Nursing. I have worked for the NYC Office of School Health for 11 years, first under the Department of Health and now under the Department of Education. I became a nurse because I love helping people, putting a smile on someone's face, interacting with the children and families, teaching and learning from each other, promoting health messages in the community, and being a safe place anyone can come to and maybe feel 'just a little bit' better. Healthy children learn better! No matter what shape or size we are, we can ALL make healthy choices! I have too many interests to list but here are a few: swimming, rollerskating, dancing, paddleball, reading, listening to all kinds of music, crocheting/knitting/sewing/cross-stitch, eating something delicious and loving God and my 3 children. Loving life!

I grew up in Sunnyside, Queens. I attended NYC public schools all my life. From an early age, I always knew i wanted to work with children. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with minors in Psychology and General Linguistics from Queens College. I attained my Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Adelphi University. This will be my first year working for the NYCDOE and I'm very excited to begin this journey. What I love most about my job is working with students with diverse needs. I also love that i have opportunities to educate and empower parents/caregivers. This field is ever changing which means that the learning never ends, another plus! On my free time I like chasing new adventures with friends and family.

I grew up in Plainview, NY on Long Island. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education at SUNY Oneonta. My M.A. degree in Speech Language Pathology was conferred at Long Island University-CW Post. My first experiences with the NYCDOE were many years ago as a substitute teacher. Later, I began working as an SLP after completing graduate school. There are many things I love about my job. As a speech pathologist, I am able to work with a variety of age groups, from babies and children to adults. It is very rewarding to help others learn to communicate in a variety of ways and to the best of their abilities. Most of my free time is spent with my family. We like to read, ride bikes, make art projects, and swim. During the summer, we like to go to the beach and in winter we like to build snowmen or snow forts.
