Music

Students at PS 330Q are given the opportunity to learn about the many different aspects of music through performance. Kindergarten and first grade students learn a large repertoire of songs, games, and dances. Students in this age range master skills such as singing, listening and keeping a steady beat. Second graders learn about different styles, cultures and artists in music through the Carnegie Hall Musical Explorers program. They are afforded the opportunity to meet the artists they learn about in class by taking a class trip to Carnegie Hall. Third and fourth graders are provided the opportunity to learn the recorder and are taught the basics of reading music notation. Fifth graders learn to play a variety of different band instruments. Additionally, students can attend classes in the after-school music enrichment program
